Lachlan maintains a broad commercial law practice and has a particular interest in taxation law.
He accepts briefs independently and as a junior in commercial trials and practises primarily in corporations law, equity, trusts, competition and consumer law, contracts, insolvency and insurance. He also accepts briefs in corporate crime and criminal fraud matters.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Lachlan practised as a Solicitor at Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons) in the areas of litigation, taxation and revenue and superannuation and trusts. Prior to that, he was a Research Associate to Justices Finkelstein and Weinberg. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Oxford, as well as a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from Australian universities.
